MINISTRIES
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 – (KJV)
Sunday Morning Service
Sunday morning is our main meeting. It starts at 11am and we meet currently at Greenhills Community Centre, Walkinstown. There is time for worship, prayer, Sharing of God’s word and time to encourage one another by sharing what God has done for us as individuals and as a church. Every second Sunday there is also the Lord’s Table (communion).
Sunday School
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 – (NIV)
It takes place almost throughout the year and it caters for children between 4 and 12 years of age. It is packed with lots of activities which includes- Songs, Bible Stories, Workbook activities, Learning about Charities and the importance of giving. It is run by very dedicated and experienced Sunday School Teachers.
Child Protection Policy
Our Child Policy has been designed to protect not only vulnerable children and all workers of minors, but also our church from any inappropriate behaviour. Legally and morally, Christian Fellowship Church is responsible to ensure that children are treated with respect as well as being kept safe while in our care. All who are involved are required to undergo Garda Vetting.
Prison Ministry
This ministry began with one man named Gordon Farrar, who has since gone to be with the Lord. He put together a team (after doing it for many years on his own) in the last 3 years of his life. There are currently two churches who are involved in this, our church and Grace Baptist Church, Pearse Street.
On Sunday evenings, the team provides a bible study for the inmates. During the week, the teams provide weekly visits and continued support for those who have served their time, spiritually and practically.
Since 2011, we have been able to organize a Gospel choir concert which has proved to be successful each year they have performed. It is our prayer that this will continue to build positive relationships with everyone involved.
Music and Worship
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24
Our main function as believers is to worship God, the one who created us for this precise reason.
Worship is what guides our hearts and minds away from the everyday commotion and allows us to focus on God and just be in His presence. Therefore worship is an extremely important part of every believer.
The bible commands that we worship Him in spirit and in truth, therefore when we come together any time [or even on our own], we must come authentically and whole heartily. While we may never be perfect here on earth, all we are required to do is bring the best we have to give.
The Music Team play an important role in enabling individuals to worship God. The participants of this ministry must be focused on worship and not performance. Presently we have a small team that are always looking for new members!
“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night” Psalm 92:1-2
